Roundcube Update to 0.5.1

This Saturday, February 12, we will be upgrading our installation of Roundcube to version 0.5.1. In the past, Roundcube updates usually resulted in something breaking. We have done our best to test everything we were aware of from past upgrades, but if there are problems with this update, please let us know and we will [...]

Introducing Complete IPv6 Support

Earlier this month we posted a Sprint maintenance notice and hinted at a larger announcement. This event set the stage for this announcement: complete IPv6 support for our portfolio of services. Sprint needed to install a software upgrade on the router we’re connected to in order to offer dual-stack native IPv6 to our existing circuit. [...]

Changes: SpamAssassin, Slow Delivery, New Billing Notice

We have a couple minor changes to announce: We have upgraded our incoming mail server pool to use the latest version of SpamAssassin, version 3.3.1. While it was released earlier this year, we use some custom modules (such as our unified Bayes database) that required additional testing. The “SMTP Redirection (Lookup Record)” service mode now [...]

IPv6 Changes for Primary DNS

They are: ns1-auth.rollernet.us 2607:fe70:0:3::c ns2-auth.rollernet.us 2607:fe70:0:4::c If you have reassigned our IP addresses to NS records under your domain please update your DNS. The old addresses have been depreciated and will stop answering queries soon.

IPv6 Changes for Secondary DNS

As part of our migration of all IPv6 services into 2607:fe70::/32, the Secondary DNS servers will be getting new addresses. They are: ns1.rollernet.us 2607:fe70:0:3::b ns2.rollernet.us 2607:fe70:0:4::b If you are performing zone transfers using IPv6, please permit these addresses as slaves on your masters. If you have reassigned our IP addresses to NS records under your [...]

New: Mail Box Protocol Control

We’ve added a new, simple feature that allows a hosted mail box to limit whether or not IMAP or POP3 connections are allowed.  This is controlled through two new options in the actions selector for each mail box: Attempting to access a mail box using a disabled protocol will result in an authentication failure. The [...]

New Invoice Options

We’ve updated our invoice system so that it will now generate invoices as attachments: either as plain text (the default) or as a fancy PDF attachment complete with logo. We’re going to be making other updates to the email templates the system sends out over the next week or two as well. Unfortunately for our [...]

6to4 Relay Activated

Roller Network has activated a 6to4 relay on one of our border routers. We have several customers using 6to4 addresses, so instead of relying on public relays for this traffic we will now originate it ourselves. Scanning through the logs and performing a traceroute/ping on several of them revealed working connectivity, but in the event [...]

Invoice Numbering Change

We’re changing the format of our invoice numbers to make them friendlier for our customers. For a long time we’ve used the format “Rxxxxxx” where the R was followed by a unique identifier. In practice, however, it’s not the most popular format: it’s long, contains letters, and it’s hard to read back over the phone. [...]
